Default Newbie. May ask a lot of stupid questions.

Hi all.

Well, I've been tasked with sequencing and annotating a bacteria for a postdoc project.

I'm a hair away from defending my PhD in Molecular Genetics so I've got the wet lab skills. I've a TAed genomics and bioinformatics courses so I know the theory. Unfortunately my practical experience has been limited to a bit of blast, fasta and clustal

Very happy to have found this community I'm certain there will be some stumbling blocks along the way.
