Job Title:
Data Analysts
Description:
The Center for Translational Genomics and Bioinformatics was founded at San Raffaele in 2010 and in 2011 significant investments were made to setup sequencing and computing infrastructure and to recruit an interdisciplinary team of scientists working in the wet lab as well as on data analysis. The Center was conceived to be a central hub in the clinical and translational research activity within the scientific institute and hospital. The team currently comprises 10 scientists, all with at least 5-10 experience in the field, from a diverse range of fields such as computer science, biology, physics and medicine. The Center is already actively involved in a wide range of projects spanning across different hospital departments and research divisions, such as immunology, cancer and neuroscience, utilizing diverse data types such as whole genome and exome resequencing, microarray and RNA-Seq transcriptome profiling, DNA Methylation, Histone Methylation and nucleosome occupancy profiling.
We are now seeking two experienced data analysts to take a role in downstream analysis and biological interpretation of high throughput data. The successful candidates must have a strong foundation in medicine and/or molecular biology and proven experience (e.g. peer reviewed publications, funded projects) in analysis of complex datasets. Knowledge of statistical analysis, data mining and programming (e.g. Python, Perl, C, Java) is desirable.
The initial contract duration will be one year renewable. The salary will be commensurate with experience. For applications please contact Davide Cittaro, Head of Bioinformatics Facility: [email protected]
