The successful candidate will participate in the design, development, and execution of scientific research projects critical to NuGEN’s success. This position is located in San Carlos, California. Reports to Vice-President of R&D. Minimal relocation is available for exceptional candidates.

JOB TITLE: RESEARCH SCIENTIST

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintains broad knowledge of principles and theories related to new and
emerging technologies
• Plans and executes laboratory research
• Plans and implements experiments and conducts data analysis
• Develops, maintains, and continuously improves research related processes
and protocols
• Works with outside collaborators on pre-commercial products and product
concepts
• Collaborates with Product Development on issues to ensure timely transfer of
new technologies and products
• Presents new data and concepts at both internal and external meetings related
processes and protocols
• Works with outside collaborators on pre-commercial products and product

• Presents new data and concepts at both internal and external meetings
• Responsible for understanding and adhering to Quality Management System

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ph D in Molecular Biology or related field or equivalent experience
• Experience with Next Generation Sequencing and related technologies required
• 0 to 2 years of industry experience in a life sciences company

• Analytical with strong problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Enjoy working both individually and as part of a team
