Working as a member of the Applications and Product Development Department, the individual in this position will assist with the development and production of the NEBNext Line of products, a series of reagent sets for the preparation of libraries for Next Generation Sequencing. Responsibilities: •Develop next-generation sequencing sample prep methods, both by utilizing standard molecular biology processes and creating novel solutions. •Coordinate and support all stages of the transition of new products from development to product release, such as validating processes, establishing quality controls, setting launch dates, coordinating beta testing, writing protocols, establishing product inventories, and aiding marketing and business development groups in preparation of product launches. •Support established products by coordinating a steady supply of validated reagents and kits. •Communicate with customers and collaborators to troubleshoot problems, develop custom solutions, and generate new sample prep solutions. The ideal candidate will have: •Extensive research and development experience with DNA and/or RNA polymerases and modifying enzymes. •Experience with one or more of the next-generation sequencing platforms. •Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast paced environment. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Qualifications: •Advanced degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or related fields •Minimum 5 years experience in the life sciences industry.
