Hello!
I am trying to determine the best method for disposing of waste water from a biomek liquid handler. It produces large quantities (50-100 gallons/day) of waste water consisting of very small amounts of Sodium Azide from either Ampure or SeraMag beads (original product contains only 0.05-0.1% sodium azide). The sodium azide would be much more dilute in the finished product because it will be mixed with large quantities of water and various alcohol washes. Is this safe to dispose of down the drain? Also considering going an alternative route to avoid the sodium azide, is Proclin okay to put down the drain if it is diluted, and if so at what concentrations? Thanks!
