We performed ribosome profiling of the heart and liver of two inbred rat strains. Our results suggest that:
- Ribo-seq is a better proxy for protein levels than RNA-seq - There is widespread regulation of gene expression AFTER transcription - Integration of RNA-seq and Ribo-seq reveals translational control and opens up a new level of gene regulation for further studies Read the full manuscript here: Translational regulation shapes the molecular landscape of complex disease phenotypes - Nature Communications The Ribo-seq data used in this study is of course publicly available and we believe we have generated some of the deepest datasets to date with 5 biological replicates for each condition. |
