We want to make our own Ampure beads for DNA cleanup and size selection.
We think we need the Sera-Mag Carboxylate-Modified SpeedBeads, but they come in two types; hydrophilic and hydrophobic. We are thinking the hydrophilic is what we need, but here they link to the hydrophobic variety. |

Hi,
I'm using Fisher #09-981-123 (GE Life Science 65152105050250) according to the protocol posted by Ethan-omics: https://ethanomics.wordpress.com/201...pure-xp-beads/ No problems so far, the selfmade beads are working perfectly. |

JBKri, why do you think they should be hydrophilic beads? Or, why do you think the carboxyl coating is hydrophobic? Last edited by jwfoley; 06-03-2016 at 12:06 PM. |
