  • TE-tracker: cannot use slclust

    Hi, everyone!

    I recently want to use TE-Tracker (http://www.genoscope.cns.fr/externe/tetracker/) to identify transposon , But when I run leto.pl, somethings is wrong!

    The key of error is the 219 lines of leto.pl :

    `$SLC -i $dir/$file -o $OUTPUT_DIR/$file.clustered -l $x_lim -n $y_lim -m $min_pair -t 0 -r $read_length`

    I think author want to use a programe named 'slclust' to deal with data, But 'slclust' that download from 'http://sourceforge.net/projects/slclust/' cannot run as this command, it only have a argument '-j';
    why? and what i should do to solve this problem?

    Thanks!

    I asked the developers the same question back in February ([email protected]). The slclust used is not the sourceforge one, it is their own program.

    They sent me a copy, so perhaps you could email them as well. Hopefully they will add it to the downloadable tarball.

        No, I'm sorry I can't send it to you. You can see for yourself that the software includes no explicit license file nor license within any of the source files, so neither I nor other users have been given permission to redistribute the software as is common with many licenses including GPL. Additionally, the "official" distribution site is still available.

        The email of the user who sent me slclust is [email protected].

            Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
            by seqadmin

            Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

            Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
            by seqadmin

            Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
