  • Ensembl gene summary question..

Newbie to here, when I go some page at Ensembl... Like this one: http://asia.ensembl.org/Homo_sapiens...2283-184053146

why there are other sequences there like FAM131A-006, what is it and why put it here?

    Thanks

The Fam131a gene is next to the Eif4g1 gene on the genome. The various -006 or -010 forms are splice forms.

Any relations with the two genes: Fam131a and Eif4g1

Not that I know of, but that doesn't mean much...it's a big genome. Genomic proximity isn't a great predictor or relatedness.

          Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
          by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
