Hi All, On the Miseq platform is it possible and relatively straightforward to perform a dual index read where each index read was 25 cycles rather than 6 or 8?
If it is possible to set a 25 cycle index read on Miseq, would data analysis be straightforward, or would special code need to be written to identify each index given its greater length? Thanks. |

changing between 6 and 8 bp is just a matter of putting the index in the sheet. I'm not sure if you can do 25 bp index or if there's a limit either buried in the software. You could either call tech support or just try starting a run with 25bp index and see if it throws an error

Thanks. According to Illumina tech support many platforms have a cut off of 20, but miseq has no limit.
