Columbia University
Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, Columbia Initiative in Systems Biology Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Bioinformatics Two postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Yufeng Shen at Columbia University. The research focus of the lab is to develop computational or statistical methods for the analysis of large-scale genomic data and apply them in genetic studies of human diseases. The exact projects are flexible. On-going projects include genome sequencing and de novo assembly, statistical models to integrate genetic variants with gene expression or methylation, pharmacogenomics of drug adverse reactions. The lab is located in the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, a vibrant hub for interdisciplinary research. The postdoc fellows will benefit from interactions with groups of computational and experimental biologists who study biomedical problems using high-throughput and systems approaches. Preference will be given to applicants who have extensive experience in any of the following fields: computational biology, statistical genetics, genome sequencing and de novo assembly, computer science, or applied mathematics. Proficiency in programming is required. The expected start date is negotiable, and the salary will be competitive based on level of experience. If interested, please send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information of three references to ys2411@columbia.edu |
