Hello everyone,
Could you tell me about the calculation formula of E-value? I could not find the calculation formula for E-value of MEME-ChIP (motif-based sequence analysis tools). I checked the papers from MEME community and web sites. but I could not find. Is its formula secret? I think that it's unlikely. However If So, How do you evaluate the value for research? Is it correct that everyone think the value is calculated by the length of the motif,the number of sequences containing the motif and homology of sequence compared with the motif. I want to know as fast as possible but I have no parson teaching me it in my lab. Maybe If I ask other lab parson, I can not receive the reply in 2-3 days. I hope you will help me Best regards, |
