The free falling cost of whole genome sequencing raises the possibility – some say the inevitability – of applying this revolutionary technology in the clinic. Over the past 12 months or so, several exciting cases have emerged of patients receiving life-changing diagnoses and therapies by virtue of personal genome sequencing, in some cases ending a tortuous diagnostic odyssey. More and more medical geneticists are raising the idea of a “sequence once, read often” approach to preventive medicine.
But huge challenges – spanning scientific, regulatory, ethical and financial issues – stand in the way of clinical genome sequencing becoming part of mainstream medicine. Unlike the research world, clinicians need efficient and repeatable processes, but are confronted by a plethora of platforms, software tools, and databases, and few if any best practices in interpreting, storing and sharing a patient’s genome data.
Cambridge and Healthtech Institute and Bio-IT World are proud to announce THE CLINICAL GENOME CONFERENCE, inviting stakeholders from all arenas impacting clinical genomics to share new findings and solutions in advancing the application of clinical genome sequencing.
The inaugural THE CLINICAL GENOME CONFERENCE will bring together many key constituencies for a frank and vital discussion of the applications and questions surrounding clinical genome analysis, including scientists and physicians, bioinformaticians, ethicists, regulators, insurers, lawyers, and administrators.

For a limited time, CHI is inviting researchers and clinicians applying genome analysis tools in clinical settings to submit proposals for platform presentations. Please note that due to limited speaking slots, preference is given to abstracts from those within pharmaceutical and biotech companies, regulators and those from academic centers. Additionally, as per CHI policy, a select number of vendors/consultants who provide products and services to these biopharmaceutical researchers are offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
All proposals are subject to review by the organizers and Scientific Advisory Committee.
