    Postdocs
Multiple postdoctoral positions are available in Dr. Jiankui He’s laboratory in South University of Science and Technology of China (SUSTC). Dr. He is building up the Genome Center at SUSTC, with the most advanced high throughput sequencers such as Illumina Hiseq, Miseq, Ion Torrent and Roche 454. We are initiating an international collaborative study “The International Human Immunome Project”. The International Human Immunome Project aims to sequence the immune repertoire of 10,000 patients and identify disease-specific T or B cell receptor sequences for 100 diseases such as cancers, autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases and other immune related diseases.

Position A:candidates should have research experience in immunology, preferably, B cells and T cells.
Position B: candidates should have research experience in cancer biology, preferably, tumor immunology.
Position C: candidates should have extensive research experience in high throughput sequencing.

The salary for these positions is 180,000 RMB per year. Contract is renewable. Candidates has previous postdoc research experience are able to consider for research scientist position.

      Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
      by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

      Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
      by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
