    AGBT Roundup / News Thread

The big sequencing applications/technology conference (AGBT) is underway in Florida now, and there is quite a bit of electronic reporting activity going on.

Probably the most up-to-date source is to be had from following the #AGBT hashtag on twitter. Interesting to get up-to-the-second coverage of talks.

Also, Anthony Fejes is keeping his blog stuffed with his detailed notes from the talks.

I will update this as I am able, but please feel free to post your news/opinions below!

Been cut'n'pasting Twitter notes, RSS feeds and FF comments at http://www.fiamh.info/category/agbt-2010/. Certainly not complete, but maybe an easy way to catch up if you do not have the time to follow the full twitter onslaught.

      Nice work!

Twitter was quite entertaining today. It was an exercise in self-restraint for me.

Daniel MacArthur at GeneticFuture has a good roundup, in addition to Anthony's blog.

      edit: 500th post!

Notes from day 3 are up. Not sure whether to be excited or just plain scared...

My first thought: What will it to take to get a PHD? Characterize a gene, genome, 1000 genomes, ...?

I am really excited about synergy of all the potential data!

Seriously scary amounts of information on massive amounts of data
Perhaps keeping twitter activity within a group will help, so created this twibe = http://www.twibes.com/ngs
