NuGen Ovation Universal RNA-seq on Torrent

Hi everyone,

I would like to perform strand-oriented RNA libraries for sequencing on Ion Torrent with the Ovation Universal RNA-seq kit from Nugen.

The adapters provided in the kit are only for Illumina.

Have you tried to design adapters that are suited for Torrent?

Do you know if NuGen will release such kit? They already sell RNA-seq kits that can be adapted on Ion Torrent but these kit only generate the cDNA, and there is no strand conservation.

NuGen had an Ion Torrent kit but they discontinued it since it didn't sell well.

We buy Ion Torrent adapters from Bioo Scientific and swap them out. You have to use 1/5 to 1/3 the amount in the Ion Torrent protocol or you will get adapter and PCR dimers.

No RNA-seq adapters on Bioo Scientific

I just went on the Bioo Scientific website and for Torrent, they only offer DNA-seq kits, I do not see where you can get the adapters that can be adapted on the Ovation kit (with the appropriate site for InDA-C).
