About the site
Genomics is at the dawn of a new era, however cheesy that may sound. New generations of extremely powerful sequencing instruments enable biologists to examine all aspects of genetic variation at a previously unimaginable scale.
SEQanswers was founded to be an information resource and user-driven community focused on all aspects of next-generation genomics. We hope to become the central location for next generation sequencing technology discussion and education. The site will always attempt to cater to everyone, regardless of scientific background or knowledge.
At this time (23 Nov 2007), SEQanswers has no financial support from nor affiliation with external entities/companies. The entirety of the site (software, hosting, programming) is funded from the founder's pockets.***
Should we ever receive any support, the relationships will be posted below to prevent any actual or perceived conflicts of interest. We also pledge to protect the privacy of any posters that wish to post potentially sensitive information.

About the founder
I am a geneticist and molecular biologist with strong interests in bioinformatics. My education includes both B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Genetics. Since completing my graduate work in 2003, I have been working on molecular biology problems in an industrial environment. It recently became apparent to me that this line of work did not allow much time for broad scientific discussion nor networking with those outside my company. With the founding of this site, I hope to reach a broad audience.
In the interest of full disclosure and transparency, I am currently employed full time at Locus Development (2011-10-10 to present). Previously, I worked at Pacific Biosciences in a nucleic acid biochemistry/sample prep R&D role, and Invitrogen/Life Technologies in a next generation sequencing product development role.
