    Bioanalyzer2100 RNA Pico Chips Expiry

    Hello,

For the actual plastic chips (RNA 6000 Pico), they all have an expiry date. Is this real? In other words, has anyone used unexpired reagents with expired chips for RNA Pico and gotten acceptable (normal) results?

If so, what is the "actual" lifetime of the RNA Pico Chips - do they ever truly expire?

    Thanks

Short answer- no true expiry date.

I recently used Small RNA chips that expired in 2012 (I think, maybe 2013) with DNA High Sensitivity reagents and it worked just fine. They seemed to have a little more of an ammonia scent than normal, but I have done this a few times and it has always worked.

And in case you didn't know, all of the chips seem to be the same, just with a different label. So you can load any reagents on any chip, you just have to load the wells the way the reagent manual specifies.

Interesting, and what I suspected. Thanks!

Pathogen Surveillance with Advanced Genomic Tools
        by seqadmin

The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the need for proactive pathogen surveillance systems. As ongoing threats like avian influenza and newly emerging infections continue to pose risks, researchers are working to improve how quickly and accurately pathogens can be identified and tracked. In a recent SEQanswers webinar, two experts discussed how next-generation sequencing (NGS) and machine learning are shaping efforts to monitor viral variation and trace the origins of infectious...
