    Hi All,

I am new to this site - a statistician with an interest in genetics and a desire to know more bioinformatics

I tried (at work) to click on the above site but was blocked as it apparently has malware - has anyone else found this ? I thought it was a legit bioinformatics site and I thought I'd used it before.

    many thanks

Well, the site comes up for me (www.homolog.us), but it seems to be just a Blog&Forum site for transciptomic information. Does your work place have a Barricuda or some such filter in place to block blogs or similar sites?

I don't honestly know anything about the site itself, never been to it before seeing your post, so I am just noting what I see, which is a privately run blog/forum/news discussion web site (seems nicely done though, and may be quite informative).

My guess would be that your work is not blocking it per se, but it falls into some catch all web filter for blogs or something like that.

      hi mbblack,
thanks for your feedback - I think you're right re a web filter
I guess I can read up on the site at home and it won't ruin my life not having it at work.
The malware seems to be a known problem http://en.twitter.com/homolog_us/sta...25817400930305
