  • Pathogenic bacteria against humans

    Hi all,

How do I know from the more than 2000 bacterial genomes available in NCBI which ones are pathogenic against humans?

    Thanks in advance!

How do you define the "pathogenic" part since under the right circumstance (reduced/compromised immunity) even commensal organisms can overgrow/cause an infection.

This looks like a useful resource: http://patricbrc.vbi.vt.edu/portal/p...RCs?page=nmpdr

Thanks for the very quick reply!

Yeah, I was looking at PATRIC, but couldn't find it. Basically what I want is the list of genomes that have been annotated as pathogenic in the literature for the human microbiome. I keep coming across papers referring to a list of 328 species, but I have not been able to find such list anywhere.
