exploring 16s rRNA data

I am wondering what the limitations of just having 16s rRNA data are for qiime analyses and how quantitative it could possibly be?

First off, 16S amplicon sequencing is not quantitative. Your measurements are relative abundances. Other limitations:
- difficult to resolve taxonomy beyond genera
- differences in community profiling depending on primers used
