  • how does sequencing accuricy come out?

    Hi,
    As i know,the SOLiD system is the only next-generation platform to demonstrate overrall accuricy greater than 99.94%.Then how does this number come out?whether it has the following formular:
    accuracy_rate=100%-Total_mismatch/Total_reads*read_lenth

    Illumina also claim "99.5% mappable reads". The problem with this is that they calculate this AFTER they have thrown away lots of reads, which they know won't be mappable...

      You forgot the critical parens in typing this

      accuracy_rate=100%-Total_mismatch/(Total_reads*read_length)

        Advancing Precision Medicine for Rare Diseases in Children
        by seqadmin

        Many organizations study rare diseases, but few have a mission as impactful as Rady Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine (RCIGM). “We are all about changing outcomes for children,” explained Dr. Stephen Kingsmore, President and CEO of the group. The institute’s initial goal was to provide rapid diagnoses for critically ill children and shorten their diagnostic odyssey, a term used to describe the long and arduous process it takes patients to obtain an accurate...
