  • Hi from Complete Genomics!

    Hi,

I'm Thon, the product manager for Bioinformatics for Complete Genomics and I will be following these threads with interest!

As you may know, we are a complete genome sequencing company that is about to launch our sequencing service for whole human genomes and we are going to make it very affordable....

I will be here to answer any questions you may have about our company and our data formats....

For those that are going to AGBT in Florida this week, I would highly recommend you visit our hospitality suite after our talk on Thursday for some exciting news!

Some question confuse about the Complete Genome sequencing technique

    1. Can I know more about the technique used by your company for sequencing the human genome?
    2. I confused about the base read of your company provided? Is it 35 bp? 70 bp? or 80 bp? I got saw one website mention that it was 35 bp. Is it correct?
    3. Is it your company more advance and faster in sequencing when comparing to Solexa and 454? As I know, 454 is about 96 MB per day and Solexa is 500 MB per day.

Thanks a lot for your answer to solve my confusion.
Hope really can get a $5,000 genome sequencing soon.

    Best regards
    Patrick

There are some more specifics in some other threads on this board.

Sequencing technologies without a commercially released platform (Oxford Nanopore, Halcyon Molecular, etc.)

You can also get more information from our website. There you can find the API and the Whitepaper on our technology.

Let me know if you need more information!

btw, the big boss disappointed me on CHI.

I was proud i had our sequencing facility up and running with a private 16 core server with 12TB storage and access to a 6k core cluster for the really big tasks.

And then you guys announce plans for a 60k cluster and 30 PB storage...

              by seqadmin

Many organizations study rare diseases, but few have a mission as impactful as Rady Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine (RCIGM). “We are all about changing outcomes for children,” explained Dr. Stephen Kingsmore, President and CEO of the group. The institute’s initial goal was to provide rapid diagnoses for critically ill children and shorten their diagnostic odyssey, a term used to describe the long and arduous process it takes patients to obtain an accurate...
