Is there any other way to extract the reads from SFF files without using sfffile and/or sffinfo? I know MatLab can also perform this task but I guess I am looking for a different option.

Thank you very much! I have read a lot about sff extract and I just simply forgot about it. Now I just need to find out whether sff_extract can split the files by MIDs and I will be good to go.Last edited by Xterra; 06-28-2010, 07:15 AM.Comment

Love this - good data definitely starts from good input, and poor input can only give relatively poor data. I particularly like the mention of Nanodrop/absorbance based methods for quantification. It's such a toss up if you'll get an accurate reading or what amounts to a randomly generated number, and a lot of library/sequencing related issues can be traced back to poor quant.07-01-2026, 11:43 AM
