  • exon capture mouse

    Hi,

I am new here so I do not know whether this question was already posted somewhere:

I would like to capture the exome of mouse samples. Are there already commercial kits for that? I can only find human exome capture methods.
With the Agilent Sureselect system we may make our own, but that is likely very expensive...

    Best wishes,
    Jurgen

    Hi Jurgen,

We are about to recieve a pre-release mouse whole exome kit from Agilent by the end of the week.

Also, with Agilent you can pretty easily design capture reagents for any of their supported genomes -- though it's 4-6 weeks to get your reagents.

I think you can do unsupported genomes too, but that's outside my current scope.

            Hi,
has someone already experience with the Agilent SureSelect mouse whole exome kit? Does it work well? How many reads map to the bait covered regions? How is the coverage distribution?

Are there any other All Exon kits for mouse available (i.e. from Nimblegen, Illumina,...)?

            Thanks,
            Robby

              by seqadmin

Many organizations study rare diseases, but few have a mission as impactful as Rady Children’s Institute for Genomic Medicine (RCIGM). “We are all about changing outcomes for children,” explained Dr. Stephen Kingsmore, President and CEO of the group. The institute’s initial goal was to provide rapid diagnoses for critically ill children and shorten their diagnostic odyssey, a term used to describe the long and arduous process it takes patients to obtain an accurate...
